Scott Parker and Jermain Defoe among ten Spurs players put up for sale
Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas has kick-started a summer overhaul of his squad by telling ten first-team players they are up for sale.
Villas-Boas is desperate to restructure his squad during the transfer window ahead of a push for Champions League football next season.
And with the club still hopeful Gareth Bale will stay put, Spurs are looking to raise funds by flogging several players who are on the fringes of life at White Hart Lane.
Villas-Boas has already chopped the likes of William Gallas, David Bentley and John Bostock after their contracts expired, but ten others have now been told they can depart.
They include strikers Jermain Defoe and Emmanuel Adebayor, along with the likes of Scott Parker, Tom Huddlestone, Iago Falque, Andros Townsend, Beniot Assou-Ekotto, Bongani Khumalo and goalkeepers Heurelho Gomes and Brad Friedel.
All of those will be available for transfer if the price is right, while its also thought that Villas-Boas will use them as negotiating chips if needed.
There has already been plenty of interest in the players, with Huddlestone and Townsend wanted by Fulham, while Inter Milan are keen on defender Assou-Ekotto.
Blackburn are keen on luring 42-year-old Friedel back to Ewood Park, but are unwilling to offer a fee at present.
Spurs will use the cash to fund targets that include Internacionals Leandro Damiao, QPRs Loic Remy and Inter midfielder Fredy Guarin.
