Giroud: Familiarity will breed success
Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud says the Gunners can compete for the Premier League title next season, now last summers signings have had time to gel.
Arsene Wengers side got off to an indifferent start in last years campaign but still managed a fourth-place finish, just five points adrift of Manchester City in second.
And Giroud believes that if the Gunners can pick up points in the early stages of the coming season they can build on the momentum to mount a serious title challenge.
If we start better than we did this season, I know that we can compete for the title because we are used to playing together now, the Frenchman told the clubs official magazine.
We have improved as a team but also as individuals throughout the season, especially the newcomers like Santi [Cazorla], Lukas [Podolski] and me.
But Giroud may find he has a few new team-mates to get used to before the seasons curtain-raiser, with boss Wenger keen to strengthen his squad.
