Borini staying put despite Liverpool closing on Mkhitaryan
Fabio Borini insists he is not looking for a quick exit from Liverpool, despite the Reds closing in on a £22million deal for Shakhtar Donetsks prolific midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
The Italian forward only moved to Anfield from Roma in July 2012, but saw his debut season on Merseyside ravaged by injury.
The 22-year-old notched just a single goal in 13 Premier League appearances, but as Brendan Rodgers moves closer to signing the highly-rated Mkhitaryan, Borini is adamant he is going nowhere.
He said: Am I looking to move abroad People need to think more about my situation.
In Italy people give more time to foreigners than they do to youngsters.
I feel really good in England.
Liverpools managing director, Ian Ayre, pulled out of a scheduled appearance at a conference on football economic opportunities in Rio over the weekend to remain in Europe to discuss deals for Mkhitaryan and Sunderland goalkeeper Simon Mignolet.
Mkhitaryan scored 25 goals for Shakhtar last season, and has been voted Armenias player of the year three times.
