Wayne Rooney targeted by Real Madrid in week of Manchester United future talks
Wayne Rooney is set to be the subject of a £30m bid from Spanish giants Real Madrid, if he fails to patch up his differences with Manchester United next week.
Rooney is preparing for future-defining talks with new United boss David Moyes in the coming days and if the England international cannot resolve his issues at Old Trafford, a host of clubs across the Premier League and Europe will take it as a green light to move for the 27-year-old.
The former Everton youngster handed in his second transfer request inside three years at the end of last season and with Moyes who he had a falling out with at Goodison Park taking the reins at Old Trafford, Rooneys future has been in even more doubt.
Rooney is believed to favour a stay in Englands top flight, with Arsenal and Chelsea both considering a bid for the centre-forward, but big-spending Paris Saint-Germain who announced Laurent Blanc as their new boss yesterday and now Real Madrid are also keen, according to the Daily Mail.
Outgoing PSG manager Carlo Ancelotti is expected to succeed Jose Mourinho at the Bernabeu and wants to make Rooney his first marquee signing but will face stiff competition.
