United: New Blues bid for Rooney rejected

Manchester United have confirmed they have rejected a second Chelsea bid for striker Wayne Rooney.
Reports put the latest offer at between £25million and £30m after the Blues first tested the water with a £20m move for the unsettled forward in July.
A United spokesman said: A bid was received yesterday and immediately rejected. Our position remains that he is not for sale.
Rooney, who could feature in Uniteds friendly at AIK Stockholm tomorrow, is now expected to submit an official transfer request after again telling manager David Moyes that he wants to leave the club at the weekend.
The England international has his heart set on playing under Jose Mourinho at Stamford Bridge after an unhappy time at United last season despite collecting his fifth Premier League winners medal.

The 27-year-old, who has spent nine years at Old Trafford since arriving for £25m.6 from Everton, played second fiddle to Robin van Persie in crucial games, and was also infuriated when former boss Sir Alex Ferguson revealed the Merseysiders desire to leave the club at the end of the season thus inciting the wrath of fans.
New boss Moyes further riled Rooney this summer when he said Rooney was required at United next term merely as cover for Van Persie.
Mourinho has admitted Rooney is his main transfer target this summer.
The Portuguese manager is in the United States, where his Blues team will take on Real Madrid in the final of the Guinness International Champions Cup in Miami on Wednesday.
Club secretary Dave Barnard, though, has remained in London as part of Chelseas negotiating time, with a third bid now in the offing.
