However, according to Goal.com Italia, Jovetic only agreed to stay in Florence for another 12 months.

Jovetic has been moved into a move orthodox striking spot and managed a very healthy 14 goals from 27 Serie A appearances last term and has already notched up three goals in the first two games of the current season for a Fiorentina side that is showing signs of great improvement.
Viola boss Vincenzo Montella was given funds to bring in a number of high-profile additions this summer with the likes of Alberto Aquilani, Mounir El Hamdaoui, David Pizarro, Stefan Savic and veteran hero Luca Toni all moving to the Artemo Franchi side.
Man City already did business with the Florence side this summer with Matija Nastasic moving to the club in a deal that saw Savic move in the other direction.
