I can match number of Chelsea bosses with medals!
JUAN MATA only joined Chelsea in the summer of 2011 yet he is already on his third manager... and with a fourth on the way.
But. incredibly. the midfielder is convinced he can match the Stamford Bridge managerial merry-go-round with medals.
Last years Champions League and FA Cup winners medals are already in the bag. And this season the Europa League and FA Cup offer the chance of more silverware.
Mata, 24, said: Each club has their own way to behave with managers but at the end what counts is to win.
And in recent years Chelsea has won such a lot of trophies.
Now the aim is to finish in the top four and win two trophies.
Im sure we will finish in the top four.
And we are still in the Europa League and the FA Cup and we can win both.
We won the FA Cup last season and it will be difficult because we are facing Manchester City in the semi-finals. But we can do it and then why not win the Europa League too
Not qualifying from the group stages of the Champions League was hard to take. And its true we didnt want to be in the Europa League. But now we are, we must try to win it.
So while Chelseas critics continue talking of turmoil, the Spaniard is focused on trophies.
It is a skill he learned in his very first year with Valencia.
Mata explained: In that first season I had four managers and three chairmen and there were so many problems.
But I remember at the end of the season we won the Copa del Rey, which is like the FA Cup.
So I learned a lot, most importantly that you never know what will happen until the end.
