Andy Carroll has told West Ham bosses he wants a £100,000-a-week deal to complete his move from Liverpool.
The Hammers have been waiting three weeks for a decision from the England striker after the club agreed a £15.5 million deal with the Reds for the 24-year-olds services.
Carroll had asked for time to think about the move hoping that former club Newcastle would enter the race to sign him, but the Magpies have gone on record to say they have no interest in re-signing the forward.
Carroll was paid £80,000-a-week during his loan spell at the east London club last season, but has now insisted on a whopping £20,000-a-week pay rise to make his move permanent.
Although West Ham are unlikely to agree to Carrolls demands they are still keen to sign the frontman.
However, they are thought to be looking at other options and yesterday had a £14.5million bid for Sevilla striker Alvaro Negredo turned down by the Spanish club.
Carroll is currently suffering from an ankle injury which could see him side-lined for up to four months, ruling him out to the start of the Premier League season in August.
