Juan Mata and Fernando Torres face Chelsea boot under Jose Mourinho
Jose Mourinho will set about stamping his authority back on Chelsea by authorising the sale of Juan Mata and Fernando Torres, according to reports.
The Special One will kick-off his second spell in charge of the Blues next season, but owner Roman Abramovich is understood to be unwilling to bankroll the kind of spending previous managers have enjoyed in the past.
Now Radio Marca are claiming Mourinho is willing to sacrifice one of the star players of the past two seasons, Mata, as well as £50million flop Torres.
It has been reported elsewhere that Mourinho is eyeing up Manchester City Edin Dzeko and Fiorentinas Stevan Jovetic as potential replacements.
However, it seems Torres is looking to the future under his new boss, and spoke of his enthusiasm to work under Mourinho.
There had been talk about [Mourinho's return] for a while and now it is confirmed, Torres said.
Once [the Confederations Cup] is over we can think about starting the season well, with excitement, and knowing he is a very demanding coach.
But first we have a very nice challenge in front of us, the Confederations Cup, which requires 100 per cent [attention].
Torres also explained his delight at being back in the Spain fold for the Confederations Cup in Brazil.
I missed out on the last two squads and you always know that it takes a lot to come here, he added.
It is not easy, there are many teammates who are playing well, but the end of the season was good for my team and for me. I am excited about being back, now just wanting to play and keep doing things well.
