Wayne Rooney set to meet David Moyes to decide on Manchester United future
Wayne Rooney is expected to meet with David Moyes next week to discuss his Manchester United future amid growing interest from Arsenal.
Rooneys future at United is up in the air after he asked to leave the club at the end of the season, having seemingly grown tired of life at Old Trafford.
United have put a decision on what happens to the 27-year-old down to new manager Moyes, and now the pair are set to decide on the future at a meeting next week.
According to reports, Rooney wants assurances that he will be a central figure to the new era at United, and also wants a bumper new contract.
Rooney has just two years left on his current terms, and a host of clubs are monitoring developments carefully.
They include Arsenal, who confirmed their interest in Rooney last week, with manager Arsene Wenger admitting it would be difficult to say no to the striker if he was available.
Chief executive Ivan Gazidis has since reiterated that stance, saying that the club could comfortably afford to buy Rooney, who reportedly earns around £250,000-a-week.
It is understood that Arsenal would only consider a deal for Rooney if the price was right, with the Emirates club unlikely to want to spend more than £17million on a transfer.
