Manchester United plot £40m transfer move for Arsenal target Cesc Fabregas
David Moyes is set to flex his muscles as Manchester United boss as the Scot plans to outbid Arsenal for Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas.
The Spaniard has been linked with a return to the Emirates after falling out of favour at the Nou Camp, but despite insisting he wants to stay at the Catalan club to fight for his place, Manchester United now look set to enter the mix.
The Premier League champions are thought to be preparing a £40m bid for the 26-year-old according to reports in The Sun, a price Arsenal are unlikely to match given their record transfer stands at approximately £15m, which they splashed out on Andrei Arshavin in 2009.
Moyes squad is in need of some fresh faces as they prepare to defend their title and following the retirement of Paul Scholes and the possible departure of Wayne Rooney, midfield and attack are two key areas the former Everton boss will want to target.
And Fabregas could be the perfect player for Moyes to build his squad around.
