Suarez wants to join Ronaldo at Madrid
Luis Suarez has dropped another major hint that he sees his future at Real Madrid by admitting he would relish the chance to link up with Cristiano Ronaldo.
Liverpools Uruguayan striker shocked his Anfield bosses last month by telling the Reds he was keen to leave the club this summer.
Suarez, who was banned for ten matches towards the end of last season for biting Branislav Ivanovic, blamed the intrusive nature of the British press for forcing him out of Merseyside.
Liverpool have so far insisted they will not sell their star man but Suarez appears determined to leave. Madrid are thought to be weighing up a £50million move for the forward and Suarez has admitted he would jump at the chance to play alongside Ronaldo at the Bernabeu.
Of course I would like to play with Ronaldo, he is a great player, said Suarez, ahead of Uruguays World Cup qualifier against Venezuela this evening.
You never know, but it is complicated. At the moment he is in Madrid and I am in Liverpool and I do not know what is going to happen.
During the interview in his homeland, Suarez continued his attack on the English media claiming he felt persecuted from day one.
As soon as I arrived in England I didnt like the press, he said. They have never judged me on how I play football, they judged me on my attitude.
They said I dived, moaned, postured, they said I was racist, everything. They have never spoken well of me.
And the Liverpool forward didnt contain his attack to the British press, complaining about the unwanted attention he gets from the general public as well.
About a week ago I was walking in a shopping centre near Manchester and three or four guys asked me for a photo, he recalled. While we were posing for it my wife said to me Luis, get out of the photo. She noticed they were making biting gestures.
I was with my wife and my daughter. Things like that get on your nerves. My wife was on the brink of tears and the blokes ran off laughing. You get tired of stuff like that.
Another bone of contention was the severity of his eight-match ban for racially abusing Patrice Evra, in comparison with John Terry, who was given just a four match ban for a similar incident involving Anton Ferdinand.
Without any proof they gave me an eight match ban, but with Terry, where they had proof and lip-readers, they gave him four, he added.
Meanwhile, Liverpool are expecting to wrap up a £7million deal for Iago Aspas today with the Spanish striker due on Merseyside for his medical.
