Everton target Kone happy to stay at Wigan
Arouna Kone has distanced himself from a move to Everton insisting he is happy to stay at Wigan.
The Ivory Coast striker has been linked with a switch to Merseyside following the appointment of his former Latics boss Roberto Martinez at Goodison Park.
However, Kone, who is also said to be a target for Evertons city rivals Liverpool, has insisted he is not in a hurry to leave the DW Stadium.
I have a contract until 2015 with Wigan and I settled very well there. It is a brilliant community football club. The chairman is fantastic, he said.
The 29-year-old admits that playing in the Championship with relegated Wigan isnt ideal but insists the final decision on his future lies with the club.
Yes, I want to be playing in the Premier League but it also depends on Wigan because I have a contract with them, he added.
Everton Just because the gaffer is in charge makes the link stronger but, to be honest, I dont know what will happen. After the international games I will know more.
