Cesc wants Barca stay despite United link
Cesc Fabregas insists hes determine to overcome the boo-boys and fight for his place at the Nou Camp, despite the possibility of a fresh start at Manchester United.
The Barcelona midfielders future at the Nou Camp remains uncertain and United manager David Moyes is desperate to bring the Spanish play-maker to Old Trafford.
Moyes sees Fabregas as the ideal man to fill the void left by Paul Scholes retirement in the middle of the Premier League champions midfield.
But Fabregas has reiterated his public stance that he wants to stay and fight for his place at the Catalan giants.
It has taken a lot for me to get where I am, and I am not thinking about throwing it all away for nothing, he told Spanish radio.
If they Barcelona said that they didnt want me, that would be another thing but what I really want is to triumph at Barca.
However, despite Fabregass insistence that his preference is to remain in Spain, it has been reported that representatives of the midfielder have already expressed an interest in the move to Old Trafford and United are increasingly confident of wrapping up a deal.
Should the transfer go through it would be a major snub to Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger.
The Gunners have first refusal on Fabregas following his £25million switch to Barcelona in 2011. However, it is thought the player is not keen on a return to north London and is eager for a new challenge.
United are also increasingly confident of landing striker Robert Lewandowski after Borussia Dortmund insisted they would not sell their star man to rivals Bayern Munich.
Moyes is hoping to wrap up both deals before United embark on their pre-season tour of Asia and Australia next month.
