Kevin De Bruyne is ready to prove to Jose Mourinho he is worth a place in the Chelsea side after receiving an encouraging call from the Blues boss.
De Bruyne, who spent last season on loan at Bundesliga side Werder Bremen, is wanted by several German sides with his Stamford Bridge future in question.
But after insisting the 21-year-old is ready to play a part for the Blues when speaking in his opening press conference, returning boss Mourinho has now made personal assurances to the Belgian international.
Mr Mourinho gave a phone call to Kevin, explaining a little bit the situation for next season, said De Bruynes agent Patrick De Koster.
