Laurent Koscielny: Im not leaving Arsenal for now
Laurent Koscielny has sought to put an end to transfer speculation linking him with a move from Arsenal to Bayern Munich albeit with a less than emphatic declaration of loyalty.
The French international defender was one of the Gunners stand-out players last season as a late surge ensured they scraped into the top four again their 17th successive season as part of that elite group.
And although he has rejected talk of leaving the Emirates Stadium for the Bundesliga, Koscielnys denial does not inspire complete confidence that the same rumours will not resurface again in January, and again in 12 months time.
The 27-year-old told French publication La Montagne: I have a four-year contract. For now, I am still at Arsenal.
Going on to hint that Champions League football is a key driver for his continued loyalty towards Arsene Wenger, Koscielny picked out the 2-0 win at eventual European champions Bayern Munich as the key moment in Arsenals season.
The Gunners won eight of their last ten matches to pip Spurs to fourth place, and despite going out of Europe to Bayern on away goals, Koscielny said: The second leg of the Champions League against Bayern Munich was a trigger for us.
In the process, we almost won everything. The most important thing is that Arsenal is in the Champions League.
It is super exciting to play against the best teams in Europe.
