Blues told £10m will seal Ruddy deal
Chelsea have been told they will need to double their opening bid of £5m if they want to land Norwich goalkeeper John Ruddy this summer.
The Blues are in the market for a back-up to first-choice stopper Petr Cech, after allowing both Henrique Hilario and Ross Turnbull to depart Stamford Bridge at the end of last season, following the conclusion of their contracts.
And after sending young Belgian international Thibaut Courtois back to Atletico Madrid for a third successive loan spell, new boss Jose Mourinho has targeted 26-year-old Ruddy as a reliable second choice to Cech.

But the Blues initial £5m offer which is believed to have also included add-ons was immediately turned down by the Canaries, although manager Chris Hughton isnt totally against losing his no.1 for the right price.
And that price is thought to be in the region of £10m, a sum which Hughton believes will help him bolster his squad ahead of the new campaign.

Ruddy, who joined Norwich from Everton in 2010 following a string of loan spells at various clubs, mad his international debut last August, helping England to a 2-1 victory over Switzerland.
But the 26-year-old missed nearly six months of last season through injury, with Mark Bunn proving an able replacement.
And Bunns performances last term could stand him in good stead with Hughton should Chelsea match the £10m asking price for Ruddy.
