Leighton Baines to pocket £80,000-a-week if he forces transfer to Manchester United
Manchester United are ready to offer Leighton Baines £80,000-a-week if he forces through a move from Everton to Old Trafford this summer.
New United boss David Moyes is desperate to raid his former club for defender Baines, but has already failed with a £12million bid.
Everton have since insisted the player is not for sale but United are ready to return with a new bid within days.
However, the key to the deal being done is Baines desire to leave Goodison Park, with United needing the player to push for the transfer.
And according to reports on Merseyside, United have promised the 28-year-old a significant pay rise to around £80,000-a-week if he helps make the transfer happen.
Baines is yet to comment on what he wants, but a bigger platform ahead of the World Cup in Rio next year will be no bad thing as he bids to oust Ashley Cole.
United are not understood to have any other targets in mind at left-back, as the club happy to continue with vice-captain Patrice Evra for another 12 months if the switch doesnt happen now.
Baines has two years left on his current contract with Everton, and has previously been courted by Bayern Munich.
