Marin heads to Seville in loan move
Chelsea midfielder Marko Marin has secured a season-long loan move to Seville.
The German, who joined the Blues last summer from Werder Bremen for £7m, struggled to break into the side under either Roberto Di Matteo or Rafael Benitez last term, with injury problems not helping his cause.
It was widely expected Chelsea would decide to cut their losses on the 24-year-old before the start of the new season, with each of Juan Mata, Eden Hazard, Oscar and Victor Moses ahead of him in the Blues pecking order, while Kevin De Bruyne has also returned to the fold after a successful season on loan at Werder Bremen.
But new boss Jose Mourinho has instead elected to give Marin first-team exposure in La Liga.
A statement on the Chelsea website read: Chelsea Football Club and Sevilla Fútbol Club have reached an agreement for the season-long loan of Marko Marin, subject to the completion of legal documentation and a medical.
Marin joins fellow Chelsea man Thibaut Courtois is Spains top-flight, where the goalkeeper will be spending a third successive season on loan at Atletico Madrid, while midfielder Oriol Romeu is also wanted by Valencia on a temporary basis.
