Arsenal facing Italian job to land Cesar
Arsenal have stepped up their interest in QPR goalkeeper Julio Cesar but face a battle with Roma and Fiorentina to land him.
Cesar, 33, has been given permission to leave QPR following their relegation to the Championship, and the Gunners believe they have a good chance of doing a deal.
But despite clearing space for his arrival by giving Sunderland permission to sign Vito Mannone, Arsenal face significant competition from a host of Italian clubs.

AC Milan are already known to be keen, while the two other Serie A clubs have since stepped in and are now pushing to do business quickly.

Cesar has previously said he would like to remain in the Premier League and London specifically this summer, but regular first-team football ahead of the World Cup is a priority.
According to reports in Italy, Fiorentina have already offered him that while Roma will give him a chance to become their number one after selling Maarten Stekelenburg to Fulham.
Arsenal cant compete with that, as they see Cesar as more of a backup player to Wojciech Szczesny and Lukasz Fabianski, but Arsene Wenger is open to rotating his shot-stoppers.
Cesar is expected to sort out his future when he returns from the Confederations Cup in Brazil.
QPR are thought to be willing to accept as little as £2million for the player.
