David Moyes adds Ryan Giggs and Phil Neville to Manchester United coaching staff
David Moyes has continued his overhaul of the Manchester United coaching staff by appointing Ryan Giggs and Phil Neville to his backroom staff.
Moyes, who officially began work at United this week, has already brought in a collection of his own staff, after clearing out Sir Alex Fergusons old backroom team.
The likes of Mike Phelan, Rene Meulensteen and Martin Ferguson have all gone, while Steve Round, Chris Woods, Robbie Cooke and Jimmy Lumsden have all come in.
But Moyes has not stopped there, after announcing that United old-boy Neville, who old Everton skipper, is set to become first-team coach, after hanging up his boots.
Neville had been offered a number of roles after retiring at the end of last season, including a position working with England Under-21s on a full-time basis.
However, he will now return to Old Trafford and work closely with Moyes on roles that will include planning and taking coaching sessions.
He will be re-united with former United academy graduate Giggs, who will become player-coach with immediate effect.
The 39-year-old is still contracted to United until the end of the season, but will work under Moyes as he continues to take his coaching badges.
United are expected to announce the full backroom changes at a press conferences before the weekend.
