Italian transfer round-up: Cavani set for Monday medical at PSG
Edinson Cavani is set to have a medical at Paris Saint-Germain on Monday before completing his move to the French club.
LEquipe have claimed that the Napoli striker will fly to Paris over the weekend and will then undergo an examination by the teams medical staff.

Laurent Blancs men are set to officially announce the deal on either Monday or Tuesday next week, pending the results of the medical.

PSG are set to pay the Partenopei 63m for the Uruguay international, beating off the likes of Real Madrid, Manchester City and Chelsea for his signature.

Napoli are closing in on Leandro Damiao after Internacional warned if they want him hes going to cost 25m.

The Brazil international seems to be the heir apparent to Cavani.

Is Leandro Damiao on the market Well, in life everything has its price, Internacional President Giovanni Luigi told the Corriere dello Sport.

We received an offer from Napoli, its true, but not directly. Damiaos manager Vinicius Prates told us they are prepared to invest 18m.

However, that is not enough and we do not intend to give discounts. Our player is worth 25m, not a penny less, and if Napoli want him then hes going to cost 25m. Were here and ready to talk.

Its reported the Partenopei have already agreed a five-year contract worth 2.5m per season, plus performance-related bonuses.

The centre-forward missed out on Brazils Confederations Cup win due to a muscular injury.

Arturo Vidal thanked Real Madrid for their interest but said that Juventus is his home.

The Chilean midfielder has been linked with the Spanish giants, although he insisted that doesnt mean a transfer is on his mind.

I am honoured that Real Madrid wanted me, but I am happy at Juventus. I feel like this is my home, said Vidal.

Of course it is pleasing to know that a team like Real Madrid is tracking me, as it means Ive done a good job. Now I am focused only on giving my best for the Bianconeri jersey.

Director general Beppe Marotta spoke to the journalists at the pre-season training camp in Chatillon and assured them there will be no problems agreeing a contract extension with Vidal.

There were also reports this morning that Bologna wanted Sebastian Giovinco as part of an exchange for Alessandro Diamanti.

We have not had any negotiations with Bologna for Diamanti, as he is not a player we are interested in.

As for Mauricio Isla, Inter made us an offer that we considered to be too low, so we havent made any further progress.

We havent discussed it with the player because at this time we dont intend to take Inters offer into consideration.

Parma have slammed the door on Inter defender Matias Silvestre.

The Argentine was meant to arrive with Antonio Cassano as part of the deal for Ishak Belfodil, but has repeatedly refused to complete the loan move.

We have decided not to negotiate with Silvestre anymore, said general manager Pietro Leonardi.

Parma waited a long time for him to make a move. We only want players who are enthusiastic about wearing this jersey.

Inter director Piero Ausilio confirms talks with PSG for Gregory Van der Wiel, but problems for Mauricio Isla and Radja Nainggolan.

It has been clear for many weeks that Isla is their primary target for the right wing, but negotiations with Juventus have so far drawn a blank.

We are talking to Juve, but everyone sticks to their guns. They have one evaluation of the player, we have another, director of sport Ausilio said.

There arent any deadlines, but we are continuing to look around us, both in Italy and abroad.

The most likely candidate if Isla falls through is Paris Saint-Germain wide man Van der Wiel.

We have an open discussion with PSG over Van der Wiel," he added. "We are talking about a loan, so well see.

Ausilio also shot down fan hopes of seeing Cagliaris Nainggolan and Basels Aleksandar Dragovic at the club.

Nainggolan could be possible only after we sell. We like Dragovic, but we are covered in that area of the team.

We did not call up Ezequiel Schelotto or Matias Silvestre for pre-season training after consulting with the coach.

Adem Ljajic has become Milans prime transfer target this summer, but reports today suggest he could be persuaded to renew with Fiorentina.

The 21-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to San Siro in recent weeks, with many claiming that the Serbia international could be Robinhos replacement at the Rossoneri.

La Nazione believe though, that Viola President Mario Cognigni can talk the attacker into signing a contract extension at Stadio Artemio Franchi.

Ljajics current deal expires in 2014, but the Viola chief is confident that he can get the youngster to put pen-to-paper.

Lazio have drawn up a list of attacking targets for this summer, with Alessandro Matri the clubs prime objective.

The Juventus forward has seen his place in the Bianconeri starting XI thrown into doubt following the arrivals of Carlos Tevez and Fernando Llorente.

As such, the Biancocelesti believe they can tempt the 28-year-old to the capital, but are not willing to pay the Old Ladys 12m asking price.

Vladimir Petkovics side will only splash out 10m as an absolute maximum on Matri.

If they cant get the former Cagliari man however, the Stadio Olimpico side have listed a number of other strikers to beef up their attacking roster.

PSV Eindhovens Tim Matavz is an option, as is Swansea goalscorer Michu.

Emanuele Giaccherini is expected to complete his move from Juve to Sunderland on Monday.

The Italy international is due to join Paolo Di Canios men in a deal worth 8m, and will fly to the North East next week to undergo a medical.

The 28-year-old signed for the Bianconeri in 2011 from Cesena, but was used sparingly by Antonio Conte starting just 10 League games last term.

Manchester City full-back Pablo Zabaleta has admitted that he would like to play in Serie A.

The Argentine defender was virtually ever-present for the Premier League side last season, playing 43 games under Roberto Mancini.

The 28-year-old has though, conceded that Italy is somewhere that he could see himself playing, whilst also claiming that Fiorentina are 'interesting'.

Serie A is a major championship, he told Sportitalia. It's certainly a League I'd like to play in.

A team I consider Fiorentina to be an interesting team. I have always liked them since the days of Batistuta.

Juventus, Milan and Inter are big clubs though.
