Flamini free transfer proves Arsenal lack ambition
Arsene Wenger continued his summer of hilarity with the mega signing of Matty Flamini our second French free transfer of the summer.
Now, dont get me wrong, hes a very capable player. Hes a high-energy central midfielder who has a great attitude, but wow. Just wow.
How are we ten days from the transfer window closing and the best two players we could find with £100m in the bank are two free transfers of questionable quality
The desperate situation were in means that Arsenal fans have to be grateful for anybody in the middle of the park.

This move is particularly interesting as many thought Flamini screwed us over when he rejected a new contract in favour of Milan
He gives us a bit of depth and hes an able cover for Arteta. He also knows the clubs set-up and he was a key member of the squad that put up a bit of a fight in the league during the 2008 campaign.
Wenger has made a habit of bringing in players of old to help him out during times of need. Weve seen Jens Lehmann, Thierry Henry and Sol Campbell over the years.

The big question will be whether he slots into the midfield against Fulham this weekend.
Jack Wilshere and co will all be jaded from the away game at Fenerbahce so this could be a good chance to bring in fresh legs.
The bigger picture is still the state of our squad we have a need for a striker, a keeper, a centre back and a right back. The fact that weve allowed another week to pass with very little happening is disappointing. The rumblings are there though, which is always a positive sign.
Still, were a body up now we need 5 more, then well be set to at least challenge for the top four this season.
