David Moyes: Manchester United might not sign anybody this summer
Manchester United manager David Moyes has revealed the club might not sign any new players before the transfer window shuts next month.
Moyes, who has spent the summer searching for a marquee signing to kick-start his reign at Old Trafford, has so far only moved to bring in Uruguayan youngster Guillermo Varela.
And after missing out on deals to sign Cesc Fabregas, Thiago Alcantara and Cristiano Ronaldo, Moyes says United must accept that they might not sign anybody new.
There is no pressure to do it. I have an idea of where Id like to strengthen, said Moyes.
If the right players are available, then great, but there is a possibility nothing may happen.
The news comes after United failed with a £28million joint bid for Marouane Fellaini and Leighton Baines of Everton, with the pair looking increasingly likely to stay at Goodison Park.
Moyes had previously felt both players were attainable, but Everton have refused to be bullied into selling, and insist that the duo will stay put.
United are widely expected to make one final £35million offer for Fellaini and Baines before the window shuts on September 2, but it is unlikely to be successful.
Anzhi striker Samuel Etoo is another option reportedly being monitored by United, but he has already told the Russian club he expects to stay.
