Romania boss confirms Chiriches to Spurs deal

Romania coach Victor Piturca has confirmed defender Vlad Chiriches is set to move to a new club in a matter of days, with Tottenham in talks to sign him.
The 23-year-old is a key target for Spurs manager Andre Villas-Boas, who is on the lookout for another defender after selling Steven Caulker to Cardiff.
And although a move for highly-rated Chiriches collapsed last month, Villas-Boas has reopened talks over a transfer this week.

Spurs are staying silent on the possible deal, but Romania boss Piturca says he knows Chiriches is talking to a new club, and the deal will done soon.
From what I know, in the next few days Chiriches will sign for another team, Piturca told the Romanian media.
Steaua Bucharest have been demanding around £9million for their star man, but its thought that Spurs are confident of doing business for around £8.5million.
Chiriches, who has previously been linked with Inter Milan and Roma, admitted last month he was desperate to move to the Premier League.
