Arsene Wenger delighted by great Arsenal players in Fulham victory
Arsene Wenger was full of praise for his Arsenal side following their convincing 3-1 win over Fulham and insists his squad is brimming with great players, even without new signings.
An Olivier Giroud strike and a brace from Lukas Podolski proved enough to deem Darren Bents home debut goal merely a consolation for the hosts, in a comfortable victory for the Gunners.
And boss Wenger said he was delighted with his players response to last weekends 3-1 defeat against Aston Villa.
Im pleased because we played like a real team. We did it in a convincing way, said Wenger.
It was important to respond straight away, weve had two convincing wins one at Fenerbahce and one here today.
But amid much speculation linking Arsenal with a host of players before the end of the summer transfer window, Wenger praised his current crop of players.
Im happy because we have great players, I could afford to rest Jack [Wilshere] today, Wenger added.
We have young British and English players who will get a chance with us.
People can focus too much on who we need to buy and forget how good the players are we have here.
