Reds hit by Coutinho injury blow
Liverpool have been dealt a blow with the news influential midfielder Philippe Coutinho will be out of action until the end of October through injury.
The 21-year-old Brazilian, who has started the season in excellent form for the Reds, was forced to leave the field on Monday evening after injuring his shoulder in a clash with Swansea defender Ashley Williams during the 2-2 draw.
After being assessed by Liverpools medical staff, it has been decided Coutinho will have surgical stabilsation on the acromioclavicular joint in his shoulder.
Liverpool hope to have him back, if his rehabilitation is successful, by the end of October.
The news will be a blow to boss Brendan Rodgers but Liverpool will be able to call on Luis Suarez after Saturdays Premier League game with Southampton, with the striker finally being available for selection after his suspension.
