Andre Villas-Boas hits out at fixture list as Tottenhams injury list grows
Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas has hit out at the fixture list after Aaron Lennon and Nacer Chadli joined Etienne Capoue on the clubs injury list.
Chadli, who has been struggling with an adductor problem, missed the win over Norwich at the weekend and has not train since because of the issue.
England winger Lennon is also struggling, having not played since the first match of the season because of a frustrating ankle injury.
They both join Etienne Capoue as doubtful to feature in the coming week, and Villas-Boas blames the problems on the fixture pile up.
The problem is that it puts our players in a difficult situation that we play on Sunday and then Tuesday, explained Villas-Boas.
The second day after a game is most dangerous day to pick up an injury. But in the end Tottenham were chosen to play on Tuesday.
If the players expressed their worries more publicly then maybe the authorities will listen.
The pace of the game has changed so much and the risk of injury is much higher.
But we will be fully committed to all matches.
Tottenham play Tromso in the Europa League on Thursday, before facing Cardiff in the Premier on Sunday, before their Capital One Cup clash against Aston Villa on Tuesday.
