Roberto Martinez is looking forward to perfect marriage between Romelu Lukaku and Everton
Roberto Martinez says he expects a perfect marriage between Everton and loan signing Romelu Lukaku this season.
The Chelsea striker is due to make his debut for the Toffees this Saturday, when they travel to West Ham.
And Martinez, who enjoyed his first win as boss at Goodison Park when his side defeated the Blues last weekend, believes Lukaku will be a perfect fit at the club.
I have been very impressed with Romelu, said the Spaniard.
We have seen him develop into a top striker from the outside: at 16 he came through the ranks at Anderlecht and all of a sudden you can see the potential.
When you get to work with him you can see he is a very mature boy after his experiences.
He is really intelligent with good football knowledge and above everything he has a huge desire to succeed and that is exactly what we need in the dressing room.
What he brings is something we havent got and that always excites you as a manager.
Lukaku spent last season on loan at West Brom, where he was nominated for the PFA Young Player of the Year award following his 17 goals for the Baggies.
Looking at what he did last season he is capable of working and improving on that, Martinez added.
That is our target. He is still very young and we hope it can be a perfect marriage over the next 10 months.
