Cabaye fined by Newcastle for sitting out start to the season
Newcastle have disciplined sulking star Yohan Cabaye after he went AWOL for the first three games of the season.
The French midfielder was a no-show for the two Premier League games against Manchester City and West Ham as well as the Capital One Cup trip to Morecambe.
He was unsettled after being linked with a transfer to Arsenal but has since apologised to Toon Army fans.
Magpies manager Alan Pardew has still decided to punish his player, however, and it is likely that he will be fined a maximum of a fortnights wages.

He has been disciplined for his action. He has accepted it and we move on, said Pardew. It was accepted in good faith.
His performance last week [in the 3-1 win at Aston Villa] spoke a thousand words. It is about performances. Newcastle fans want to see him pull on the shirt and perform.
Liverpool have also been linked with a move for Cabaye and it is possible they will make a fresh move for him in January when his relationship with Newcastle will again come under scrutiny.
