Jose Mourinho hopes funny training session will boost Chelsea players ahead of west London derby
Jose Mourinho insists there is no crisis at Chelsea and hopes a funny training session will help the Blues return to winning ways against Fulham.
Mourinho has seen his side suffer two defeats in the past week against Everton and Basle, with the Blues hosting neighbours Fulham in the Premier League tomorrow.
And the Portuguese revealed he attempted to boost his players spirits with a light-hearted session ahead of the west London derby.
Today instead of tactical work that I like to do before the match, I did a funny session, Mourinho said.
I didnt train in the tactical way, we played handball, we played basketball. I did a funny session where everyone was smiling and laughing.
The way isnt always to massacre the players with tactical questions, when sometimes you arent happy enough for that. So it was good for them.
And Mourinho, while acknowledging suffering back-to-back defeats was not ideal, insists there is no major problem at Stamford Bridge.
For me there is no crisis, just two bad results, he added.
Im not surprised [about the criticism], Im not worried.
I know where I have to go, I know what I have to give and I know when you try to build something the players need to be comfortable.
I accept opinions, I accept critics. For sure I will disagree with some but for sure I will agree with some others.
In the Champions League we lost a match we cannot lose, but we were not relegated to the Europa League. Its not the way you start, its the way you finish. You want to start good and finish good, thats the perfect picture.
But if somebody expects me to play against Fulham with nine players behind the ball, waiting for Fulham to make a mistake, it wont happen.
