Almost perfect Swansea City silenced the doubters at Crystal Palace
It is a good time to be a Swansea City fan and the last week was pretty perfect.
Ok, for it to be perfect we would have beaten Liverpool, but Im sure every Swansea City fan would have taken two wins and a draw from the last week.
Sundays victory at Crystal Palace makes a mockery of the pundits who claimed we would struggle this season after losing our two opening league games.
Even Radio Wales were asking if we had the squad to cope with the demands of the Europa League and playing almost every Thursday and Sunday.
Some would prefer to see us fail rather than us keep proving that our way of doing things is the right way
The answer to that question is a definite yes and so far our European adventures have not affected our league form, as the victories over West Brom and Crystal Palace, both straight after away trips on Thursday nights, shows.
Michael Laudrup made the five changes for the trip to Palace from the side that won in Valencia with Ben Davies, Ashley Williams, Jonjo Shelvey, Wayne Routledge and Alvaro Vazquez all coming back into the starting line-up. This gives you a pretty good indication to the depth of the squad and how well equipped we are equipped to cope with a 50 plus game season.
We now have seven points from five league games which is the same tally that we had at this time last season. Then we were praised as world beaters this season it is classed as a wobble in some quarters.
It would be laughable if it wasnt so blinkered and it is almost as if some would prefer to see us fail rather than us keep proving that our way of doing things is the right way.
The games though keep coming thick and fast and now we look towards two more games in six days with Birmingham on the horizon on Wednesday night and then Arsenal coming to the Liberty next Saturday.
With the form we are in at the moment there is no reason why we cant get something out of both those games and keep this brilliant form that we are in going.
