Spurs draw up shortlist to replace Villas-Boas

The Portuguese was said to be under increased pressure following their inept 6-0 hammering at Manchester City last week, although his team responded with a much-improved display in Sundays 2-2 draw with champions Manchester United at White Hart Lane.
According to reports, the Tottenham hierarchy were looking at potential alternatives to former Chelsea boss Villas-Boas reign, with fans having already showed their frustration after a hit and miss start to the season following a £107million-splurge on seven new players in the summer.

Among those said to be in the frame are former Chelsea coach Guus Hiddink, who has been out of football since July after leaving Anzhi Makhachkala, former Bayern Munich coach Jupp Heynckes, while even USA coach and former Spurs striker Jurgen Klinsmann has been thrown into the mix.
Villas-Boas, however, will be relieved his side held on to avoid another slump in front of their own fans against United, although they twice allowed David Moyes side to draw level in a thrilling early kick-off in north London
The defeat left Spurs in ninth place after 13 games, just one point behind United.
