Bran: Demba Bas the man to help us catch Arsenal
Bran: Dembas the man
BRANISLAV IVANOVIC reckons his Chelsea side have got that champion feeling back.
The Blues last lifted the Premier League title under Carlo Ancelotti in 2010.
But the defender believes striker Demba Ba can help tilt the title race in their favour.
The Senegal hitman has been linked with a move after falling behind Fernando Torres and Samuel Etoo in the Stamford Bridge pecking order.
But he came on as a sub to score in Sundays 3-1 win over Southampton as Chelsea swept back to within four points of leaders Arsenal.
Ivanovic declared: Demba shows every minute hes on the pitch that he tries to fight and is a physical striker.
Sometimes you have to change your style of football and try to hit long balls.
Hes very useful for this team and very important. We can change our play because of that, especially in some games away from home when we are winning.
Hes a guy that can keep the ball up front.
We will use him a lot in December and January.
Ivanovic says Chelsea have paid for being slow starters in previous seasons.
But now they are within touching distance of the Gunners and face Arsene Wengers troops at the Emirates on December 23.
The Serb explained: At the moment, yes it is our best chance of winning the title since 2010.
At this stage in the years before we would always be trailing by a lot of points, but we are up there now and this has given us an opportunity.
Its a good thing when you go into games feeling you are there and right at the top.
Its not like last year where we had to run for the points and it put us under pressure and was much more difficult.
We have improved as a team, but we have to show it every game.
