Liverpool set to miss out on PSG's Pastore
Paris Saint Germain midfielder Javier Pastore has dismissed reports of a new year move to Liverpool by insisting he wants to stay and fight for his place at the Parc des Princes.
Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is known to be a big admirer of the 24-year-old and was reportedly ready to table a £17 million bid for the Argentine playmaker in January.
Pastore has struggled at PSG since joining the French champions for almost £40 million from Palermo in 2011 and has attracted a lot of interest from Europes top clubs including Roma and AC Milan.

However, he has attempted to distance himself from rumours of a new start elsewhere by insisting hes not ready to quit PSG.
All these rumours are false and have nothing to do with the reality of the situation, he said.
As I already said, I was the first to choose this club and I will be the last one to leave it.
I will fight to do well at PSG. I know there are many players in my role, but I fight for a place without losing my head.
Asked about a possible return to Italy, Pastore said: In order to meet my friends, yes, but nothing more.
