Manuel Pellegrini rules out selling Arsenal target Edin Dzeko in January
Arsenal will have to cross Edin Dzeko off their list of January targets after Manuel Pellegrini ruled out selling the Bosnia striker.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger had reportedly made the Manchester City man one of his top targets for the new year, with Arsenal in need of another forward.
But despite Dzeko recently admitting that he is thinking about quitting the Etihad Stadium, Pellegrini says the 27-year-old is going nowhere.
No, that is not the case [that Dzeko could be sold], he said.
I put my trust in him before the season and I have just as much trust in him now.
It is very important for this club to have a good squad because we have a lot of games to play from now until April and, if we want to win trophies, we need important players.
Pellegrini also went on to reassure Dzeko that he will get match time in the future, even though he is behind Alvaro Negredo and Sergio Aguero in the pecking order.
Maybe at the moment he is not playing as much as he would like, but he remains an important part of the squad.
