Newcastle fans walk out in protest

Newcastle fans made their dissatisfaction with owner Mike Ashley more than clear as they walked out of St James Park en masse during their match with Cardiff.
The Magpies faithful are furious over the direction Ashley is taking the club and are also unhappy with manager Alan Pardew who, before today, saw his side lose seven successive Premier League games, while also serving a touchline ban of the same length for a headbutt on Hulls David Meyler.
And they made their point this afternoon, leaving St James Park in the 69th minute to represent the last time Newcastle won a trophy back in 1969.

Up until that point, stewards had tried to quieten supporters by forcing them to take down banners protesting against Ashley and Pardew.
But banners or not, Newcastle fans were determined to make their feelings known.
